The Washington Redskins have a lot to figure out this off season. Finding a new head coach is only the most obvious one.
They are the NFL’s worst franchise. They have been a NFL team since 1932. The football team has never been worse. The running game is pedestrian, the passing game is rudimentary and the front office dysfunctional at best.
If they don’t improve on all fronts, expect to see them remain the worst team in the worst division in football.
Even with all this, it could be worse.
- The defence is young and has shown potential.
- Jay Gruden is not the coach.
- They drafted a good WR
In fact if not for the tragic Alex Smith injury they may have won the terrible “NFC EAST” this year.
Smith did not post “jaw dropping” numbers but because he just seemed to do everything adequately. That would be a large improvement at the most important position in football.
A two game hot streak?
When you only win 3 games, don’t have a head coach, and still are owned by the worst owner in sports; things are not good. No, but there is always hope, that’s the important thing.
Perhaps it is also important to recognize that there are many measures beyond a win-loss record and some of those seem promising.
Jay Gruden was the eighth head coach of the team since Daniel Snyder purchased the Redskins. Will number nine fare any better?
