With the mainstream media hysteria over the Impeachment of President Donald J Trump, the Mueller Report, and “Grab ’em by the pussy”, you will be forgiven for overlooking the real legacy of the unlikeliest of administrations:
Fighting trade wars as un-winnable as the nation building wars of previous administrations.
If we continue to rely on the Trump administrations jejune threats and gimmicks we have no chance of emerging victorious.
Resolution can only be brought about through peaceful talks between the parties, respect for democratic principles, the advancement of free-market economic policies, and by making decisions that grow and sustain us into the future.
Policies of lower levels of government spending, taxation and labor market restrictions must begin without delay. When Chinese citizens enjoy greater levels of economic freedom than Americans do the trade war is lost.
High tax rates deter economic growth and punish productivity; productivity is a countries greatest asset. President Trumps inane trade wars are punishing American citizens, not their Chinese counterparts.
Trump has started a trade war he cannot win with threats, taxes, subsidies and regulations.
Trump needs to embrace and adopt more free-market policies to compete with economically with China. China’s growing dominance across the globe is an existential threat to the US economy.
Trump needs to stop hindering Americans ability to provide goods and services to the Chinese marketplace.
This will lead to more prosperousness, economic growth and investment, and better jobs for middle class Americans.
